Spring break. Though the men in our group were cranky the ENTIRE trip, it was amazing to hang out with the girls. We sang, chatted, read and laughed our way through three states. Texas was a good choice too. Cheap, warm and entertaining.
From "A Thousand Places to See Before You Die," I can add three more to my list. We saw/visited/experienced the Texas Hill Country (between Austin and San Antonio), The San Antonio River Walk, and Cattlemen's Steakhouse in Oklahoma City.
As I said to a friend in a recent email; "Though I've been to 10 countries, I've seen very little of my own. I'm just as eager to explore more of the U.S. as I am to travel abroad again."
