I love the (not-so) recent trend of creative, kitchy T-Shirts. I especially enjoy shirts that convey inside jokes only understood by literature aficionados. Wearing these just screams "HEY, I'm a literary nerd! I like to read!" And people who like to read are cool.

Threads, the custom T-Shirt store in Manhattan (KANSAS), also sells a fantastic screen print of J.R. Tolkien sitting on a rock with the words "I'm a 'tolkien." The combination book/drug reference is impressive and hilarious.
